This dried palatable kelp (ocean mustard, “Miyeok”(Korean) or Wakame in Japanese) is unimaginably nutritious and rich in nutrients and iodine. It's a sea vegetable popular in Eastern Asia having a subtly sweet flavour, often served in soups and salads. Primary ingredient in seaweed soup (miyeok-guk), it also can be consumed as a snack in itself. It's sold dried, and when rehydrated it expands to a considerable amount. Korean mothers are served seaweed, for quicker recovery post child birth, because of the high calcium and iodine contents in it.
