More information | Soybeans, boiled in salt water, are crushed and ground and compressed into bricks. Meiju (soybean brick) is then fermented in briny water to make the perfect Doenjang. The by-product of this process is a brown liquid, marketed as Korean soup soy sauce.Like most Korean foods that are fermented, doenjang is rich in anti-carcinogens that do not change composition or properties even when heated to high temperatures. The soybean paste has potent amount of lecithin, saponins and anti-oxidants. Lecithin helps enhance the functioning of the brain and saponins are effective in managing cholesterol in blood. Being rich in anti-oxidants, it promotes liver detoxification and gives the added benefit of anti-ageing. Ingredients: Soy bean, water, sea salt. |
